Silver Bobbin Earrings - perfect earrings for a seamstress or craft maker!  

Inspired by vintage bobbins and the design of traditional craft making tools. These earrings are wound with sewing thread - in an array of colours to choose from.

Materials:

Sterling Silver Bobbins & Ear-wires

Sewing thread - I use a variety of threads depending on colour requested. Some are machine embroidery threads, or metallic threads or cotton threads.

Dimensions:

35mm long (hook & bobbin).

How it's made:

I made the original bobbin by soldering 2 discs to either end of silver wire. Repeats of this design are cast into silver using the ancient art of lost-wax casting in London. Then the bobbin attached to handmade silver ear-wires in my Pembrokeshire workshop. The thread is tightly wound onto the bobbin & knotted securely, no glue, so if you ever feel like a colour change, that's possible.
