The first brave flower to appear - the Snowdrop is a true sign of Spring's imminent arrival and in the language of flowers symbolises Rebirth, Sympathy & Hope.
The Snowdrop has many names worldwide - 'Milk Flower' from the Greek Gala/Milk and Anthos/Flower is a favourite. In Wales it's an Eirlys (Eira - Snow & Llys - Plant) and taken as a girl's name.
Materials:
Sterling Silver
Dimensions:
Snowdrop measures approx 26mm x 12mm and is attached to a simple ear-wire which curves behind the ear and ends just below the snowdrop.
How it's made:
The original Snowdrop model was hand-fabricated from silver sheet and lots of experimental melting of silver wire! Repeats of my model are made using the ancient craft of lost-wax casting (this part is done in London by the casting pros). Back here in Pembrokeshire the castings are tidied up and the ear-wires are soldered on & shaped before being given a soft polish.
Gift-boxed and packaged with a tiny silver cloth enclosed to polish the earrings.
