An Honesty pod sits in the centre of this delicate silver bangle, a reflective metallic light, just like real seed pods glimmering in the autumn garden. The botanical name Lunaria comes from the Latin Luna, meaning Moon.
The name Honesty came later in 16th Century, some say as the transparent pods reveal their seeds 'honestly',

The pod measures about 3cm long - fairly similar in size to a real one.
The bangle is made with 2mm thick, solid sterling silver & can be made to size.
As a general rule 65mm internal diameter is small/medium.

How it's made:
The original model was hand-fabricated from silver sheet & wire. Sheet was textured with paper in a mill and then a pod shape was sawn out & a section of wire soldered around the edge to strengthen. Little seeds were formed from molten blobs of silver on each side.
A mold was made so that exact repeats can be formed using the ancient art of lost-wax casting (this bit is done by a casting company in London). Back here in Wales, handmade ear-wires are attached & they are given a soft polish to highlight the natural textures.
