Bluebells are one of our most beloved British Woodland flowers. A forest floor of blue, in April & May, is magical - which may be why, in Celtic & British folklore, bluebells were linked to stories of fairy enchantments.
Materials:
Sterling Silver. Polished to a shine - the inside of the bluebell is blackened to accentuate the bell shape.
Dimensions:
The Bluebell on this pin measures 16mm x 10mm.
It has 6 petals and like a real Bluebell, they curl upwards.
The stem curves over and is fastened onto fabric with a simple push-on stopper - it's about 55mm long.
How to wear it:
This Bluebell can be worn as a decorative pin and can be attached to a lapel, a scarf, a structured hat - or anything else you wish it to adorn!
How it's made:
This Bluebell design was originally sculpted in silverclay & then fired to a solid silver state.
Repeats of the original model are made using the ancient craft of lost-wax casting (this step takes place in London by professional casters). Back in Pembrokeshire, the casting are tidied up and a hand-carved silver pin is soldered on & polished to a shine.
Presented in a gift-box with a silver polishing cloth included.
